Exhibition Description
Cosmic Geometry
Patterns, shapes, and forms that we find everywhere and always, are the focus of this vibrant and absorbing show. It demands not only our close attention but also our capacity to appreciate the universal aspect of things.
This is our main festival exhibit and features 16 artists and 44 pieces. Curators Gareth Bate and Dawne Rudman began with an international call for submissions that attracted hundreds of artists. They like to curate based entirely on what they receive. When looking for the main thematic exhibition they were struck by the continual occurrence of dramatic that had either a cosmic vibe or used colourful geometric patterns. They decided to bring them all together into a show which became Cosmic Geometry. This will be mounted in the beautiful gallery at our main festival venue Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre in Oakville.
